Hidden gem. Had the bun bo hue and wasn't disappointed. Good service and very clean. Will come back and try other things.

This place served the best banh beo ever! I got the Mi Quang with pork and shrimp. The sauce and tumeric noodles were perfectly soupy and saucy. The banh canh cua had so much real crab in it!! It also had the pork blood cubes which brought out so much flavor. This place also gives all the garnishes, including banana leaves, mint, perilla and cabbage + limes. The lime-ade was made fresh in front of us. So refreshing on a hot day. I highly recommend this place for banh canh, mi quang, and banh beo if you are ever in SJ.

I'm sure I've had Mi Quang before, but since I don't remember, I guess it really didn't rock my world. I'll remember this Mi Quang, both the dish and the restaurant. The visual presentation caught my eye, and the taste caught my taste buds. I didn't know there were so many types of the dish so next time I'll have to try the M1. Oh yeah I'll be back.

I'm a Vietnamese food blogger, and Mi Quang Co Thao is a hidden gem in north San Jose you should know about. Mi quang is a central Vietnamese dish from Quang Nam region consisting of flat rice noodle, turmeric, pork, shrimp, toasted peanuts, sesame rice crackers, and hard-boiled quail eggs. The mi quang here is solid. I also have to mention their bánh bèo; most people go to Hue Restaurant for bánh bèo, but you need to go here for them. Sooo much bigger, more intricate, and flavorful than Hue Restaurant. One thing I don't recommend here is the bun bo hue. It's mediocre; go to BBH An Nam for that. But the mi quang, hell yeah. You have to try it. Show the Bay Area food scene that you're not a normie.

When I lived in the South Bay, I would come here occasionally when nearby. Recently, I had to take care of some business down south and I grabbed dinner to go from here. Once again, I ordered their Hai Nam Chicken with Steam Rice. A very simple dish but also easy to produce a poor version of what this dish can be. Mi Quang Co Thao produces a solid version of Hai Nam Chicken. Flavorful and moist chicken with nicely textured, not too salty rice, along with some nicely pickled vegetables. As for the interior of the restaurant, nicely decorated in brown hues with a mini stage up front, that looks like they're ready for karaoke night.

This review is only for their Bun Bo Hue. They're located kind of off the beaten path, in between small commercial businesses. This is not a restaurant where you will stroll right past. Parking is easy enough. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and pretty large. There is a makeshift stage with some audio equipment. Looks like they're set up to host karaoke or maybe they host party events here. The Bun Bo Hue is surprisingly really good and the last time I had their BBH was last month(to go order). The broth is rich, spicy, and not too oily. Everything in the bowl is what I would expect and there is even cubed blood, which is not always in BBH offerings at other restaurants. Service is fine overall. Hidden North San Jose gem on 4th Street for authentic Vietnamese food.
